About the role:
The Engineering team owns the delivery and stability of our product end-to-end and our customers’ ability to capture revenue through our platform. As a Software Engineer, you will be working on the heart of the product: the movement of money at high volumes reliably, securely, and globally by leveraging several different technologies. As a member of the team, you will help drive the design and development of innovative solutions to continuously meet ambitious engineering challenges. You will have broad autonomy and responsibility for formulating the best solution possible and working with your peers to deliver your vision. Finix is looking for a team member to join our Engineering team who brings exceptional technical acumen, attention to detail, interest to grow, and an obsession with building the highest quality and scalable software.You Will:
- Deep dive into our customers’ needs and work with product management to define new services
- Own the design, implementation, and best practices within your domain along with conducting design and code reviews
- Monitor and maintain your team's production services
- Evolve and define efficient and effective engineering processes
- Mentor engineers on best engineering practices along with collaborating with product management and peer engineers
- Proactively improve our architecture, frameworks, tooling, automation, and best practices.
- Comfortable continuously delivering code, infrastructure, and tests throughout the product development lifecycle
- Ambitious to find edge cases, and understand requirements, and design implications
- Proactive in monitoring running systems and troubleshooting production issues
- Committed to communicating and working cross-functionally with other teams to ensure the delivery of quality code and features
- 8+ years of experience building and maintaining web APIs and services in a highly-available production environment
- 4+ years experience with Java
- Experience designing and building concurrent and asynchronous systems.Working knowledge of SQL databases and NoSQL
- Comfortable with Agile practices and experience estimating and predictably delivering high-quality software
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (advanced technical degree preferred)
- Payments, Fraud, Risk, or Finance background
- Experience with Spring Boot, Gradle, Docker, K8s, and/or AWS infrastructure
- Experience with other object-oriented languages
- Previously implemented secure, highly available, and observable REST APIs and services
