Do you want to share your knowledge to contribute to Climate Change projects in developing countries?

We are searching for a volunteer like you to help Structure and implement the area of climate change within ACOPI Bolivar as a way to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the department and open up new lines of project execution.

As a volunteer, you will:

• Report on trends in climate change and environmental adaptation of MSMEs in Cartagena and Bolivar.
• Advice to associated and allied companies on how to obtain the green certificate and improve environmental processes.
• Support in the management and co-formulation of climate change projects.
• Organization of events and spaces for socialization and exchange on climate change and its relationship with the department's MSMEs.

Essential Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in ecology, environmental engineering, biology, chemistry, or higher studies in some of these areas.

Essential Background:

• 3+ years of experience in issues related to climate change, business impact, innovation, and project management.
• Knowledge or experience working with the private and public sectors in development partnerships.
• Knowledge of the environmental dynamics of the country and preferably of the region.
• Proactivity, ability to work in a team and under pressure, high capacity for reading comprehension and statistical data, basic management of Excel, leadership, and empathy, extensive knowledge of national and international regulations on climate change.

Project - Sharing Canadian Expertise for Inclusive Development and Gender Equality (SHARE)

Cuso International will deliver the Sharing Canadian Expertise for Inclusive Development and Gender Equality (SHARE) project, with a contribution from Global Affairs Canada (GAC) over seven years (2020-2027). SHARE aims to improve the economic and/or social well-being of the poorest, most marginalized and vulnerable people, particularly women and girls, in developing countries, with a view to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition to increasing engagement of Canadians in international development and key global issues, this project will aim to increase the performance of country partners to deliver more inclusive, innovative and environmentally sustainable development initiatives that advance gender equality, in support of the action areas of Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy.

ACOPI is a private non-profit association that seeks to contribute to the productive transformation of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The Colombian Association of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ACOPI) was founded nationwide on August 27, 1951, as a result of the merger of entities that exist at the time in the most important industrial cities of the country.

Cuso International terms and conditions allow you to lead a modest and healthy lifestyle while being effective in your placement. This support package will cover basic living expenses for one volunteer and is not intended to cover home-based expenses (ex. loans, support payments, etc.) or luxury items such as imported items in placement or international personal travel.
