The Schools End-to-End Medical Officer will provide high level logistics and operational support for an estimated 1000 end-to-end testing vendors for the state of California schools. The Medical Officer will provide consultation and technical assistance for schools partnering with the state for end-to-end vendors. This individual will provide oversite with analyzing vendor data, monitor vendor compliance with testing regulations, and offer technical assistance and expert consultation as needed.Responsibilities
  • Provide consultation and technical assistance for various antigen testing sites including: analyzing antigen test data, compliance support and assistance with regulatory reporting under the Emergency Use Authorization for the antigen tests.
  • Serve as a consultant for COVID-19 outbreak investigation sites for infectious control assessment and recommendations based on COVID-19 guidelines for California.
  • Work collaboratively with and provide consultation to members of testing taskforce to ensure timely disposition of issues.
  • Provide senior level input into school’s policy and guidance for the state of California schools and give expert input and guidance for school data analysis and interpretation.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on data reports and ongoing documentation practices.
  • Apply sound critical thinking and judgment skills.
  • Must be flexible to work on weekends.
Qualifications
  • A Medical degree from an accredited U.S. medical school.
  • Experience in outbreak response planning and execution, managing staff, and strategic planning.
  • A minimum of 2 years infectious disease surveillance experience.
  • Familiarity with latest evidence and guidelines related to SARS-CoV-2.
  • Knowledge of best practices on collection, management, analysis, and dissemination of disease surveillance data.
  • Knowledge of concepts, principles, methods, and techniques of administering public health programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret disease data from a wide variety of data sources.
  • Ability to initiate, conduct, and report on disease control and epidemiological studies and research.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance to the health care and public health communities.
  • Ability to effectively work independently and within a team environment.
  • Extensive ability to communicate with health care and public health professionals, policy makers, agency staff, and the general public both verbally and in writing.
  • Advanced experience in the writing of formal reports and articles.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with national, state, and local partners in various governmental, private, and voluntary agencies.
