CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to build sustainable, community-based response programs to disasters. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, CORE provides free testing to disadvantaged communities and emerging hotspots around the city. This is accomplished through strategic partnerships with local health agencies and community-based organizations to reach high-risk populations in vulnerable areas.
We require all employees to comply with our Mandatory Vaccination Policy. As a condition of employment you will be asked to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.Responsibilities
- Assist in field-based humanitarian response activities to support Los Angeles County’s efforts to run mobile COVID-19 testing clinics.
- Guide school-aged children and their parents through the COVID-19 testing site, to include assisting with pre-registration, registration, and greeting guests.
- Direct CORE staff in site set-up, operations, and break down.
- Ensure staff are given clear goals and objectives.
- Ensure all staff are present, accounted for, and adhering to schedule
- Liaise with School Administrators
- Participate in CORE’s safety training program. Adhere to safety protocols at all times.
- Assist in the management and monitoring of inventory.
- Follow all CORE procedures and help implement them at testing sites
- Report to CORE Management for direction and communicate significant incidents.
- Monitor daily site operations and adapt to changes.
- Perform any other work-related duties if applicable.
Qualifications
- Excellent analytical skills, observation and analysis capacity.
- Remain calm under pressure and stay flexible in changing environments on site.
- Stay adaptable to changes in policy, procedure and protocol.
- Excellent written and spoken English. Bilingual in Spanish or another language preferable.
- Ability to communicate openly and maintain good relationships within the team, government and other local authorities and partners.
- Responsive, motivated, willingness to take responsibility.
- Ability to cope with stress, adhere to deadlines and respect CORE management.
- Attention to detail and structured way of approaching tasks (well organized), and to plan ahead and result oriented (pro-active).
- Practical and a problem-solver.
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office and G Suite.
- Readiness to commit and adhere to the values, mission and vision of CORE.
- Excellent writing, reporting and communication skills.
- Must be able to stand in two-hour intervals in personal protective equipment.
- Must be at least 18 years old and have reliable transportation to and from the work site.
