We build payments infrastructure for vertically-focused software companies (think restaurant, yoga studio and winery software) and fintech providers so they can own and monetize payments without the heavy lift of building complex systems from scratch or relying entirely on disjointed third-party services. Our job is to make our customers’ lives easier by making payments invisible.
About the Role:The Technology organization at Finix owns the delivery and customer experience of our product end to end. The Lead Technical Writer will work with our Product team and other cross-functional teams to create, curate, and organize internal and external documentation. Applicants should have extensive experience managing documentation as code, excellent writing skills, and a passion for creating taxonomy. You Will
  • Build tooling and infrastructure for Finix’s Documentation-as-Code environment.
  • Collaborate with numerous agile teams to document releases and create external facing content.
  • Create and curate documentation to ensure that it is findable, relevant, and up-to-date.
  • Become an expert at how the product is used and be able to explain the why as well as the how.
  • Take a holistic view of documentation at Finix and come up with a strategy to improve that documentation.
  • Be able to write new material and edit existing content for grammar and clarity.
  • Have the ability to independently design and execute large-scale documentation projects.
  • Grasp complex technical concepts and articulate them clearly and accurately.
  • Experience using the Linux shell, command-line Git, HTML/CSS, and Python.

You Have
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) writing, editing, researching, and managing software documentation.
  • Previous experience (2+ years) with static site generators and managing docs as code.
  • Experience establishing documentation processes used by teams across an organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly.
  • Experience with some degree of frontend or backend engineering technology.
