If you are motivated by these principles, we encourage you to join our team!HTH seeks a Lead Academic Coach, to assist students within the classroom setting, as well as facilitate small group and individual instruction at High Tech Middle Chula Vista in Chula Vista.Grade Level: MiddleNumber of positions available: 1JOB SUMMARYThe Lead Academic Coach assists within the classroom, full or part time, as well as facilitate small group and individual instruction. The Lead Academic Coach assists with ensuring students with diverse needs have access to our general education curriculum.[3] Lead Academic Coaches are essential to ensuring that all students get the individualized attention they need for success. A coach may work predominantly with one student in need of one- on-one support or with several students in a classroom or several classrooms.Duties include: Provides direct assistance to the teacher in such activities as: Implementing lesson plans, preparing instructional support materials Administering assessments and assisting in grading Working directly with students in small groups Providing individualized instructional and learning assistance Supervising students in and outside of the classroom Provide instructional support and tutoring to students in groups or one-on-one sessions Participate in curriculum and assessment meetings to provide direct input and recommendations on student progress, accommodations and needs Assist with tutorial activities working with an individual or group of students who may have learning differences Mentor othercoachesin all the aspects of modifying curriculum and providing access to all students Monitor student progress and provide input for evaluation and parent conference upon request Lead and plan interventions for struggling students Establish rapport and meaningful relationships with referred students to assist in improving their behavior, educational performance, and social relationships Other duties as assignedThe ideal candidate would possess the following competencies: Building relationships Communication, both written and oral Ability to evaluate alternatives Interpersonal skills Ability to listen and motivate Teamwork Create plans and goal setEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Associates Degree or 60 units toward Bachelor’s Degree Five or more years of experience working in a similar environment ABA or other behavioral support trainingSALARY amp; BENEFITSThis is an hourly position.
