If you are motivated by these principles, we encourage you to join our team!JOB SUMMARYHTH seeks a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join our leadership team, and oversee the organization’s data, security, maintenance, and network, as well as manage the organization's technological roadmap. With the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Technology Officer provides leadership for the Information Technology (IT) Department to support High Tech High Charter School organizational goals related to IT infrastructure and IT support service.The Chief Technology Officer creates alignment to how we operate as an organization related to the development and implementation of network-wide information technology initiatives. This role will also direct and manage the areas of IT applications development, systems infrastructure and architecture, and school technology support services.Essential Duties Plan, organize, develop, and implement educational technology services to schools and central offices; provide network-wide leadership and technical expertise in planning and developing technology strategies for use in classrooms to enhance student learning. Direct all schools’ interface with community, private sector and government agency representatives regarding the adaptation and fusion of technology with curriculum and the classroom. Plan and direct establishment of work groups, committees and/or task forces related to HTH technology applications; establish procedures to review/change HTH practices to best business practices. Communicate with other administrators, personnel, and outside organizations to coordinate activities and programs, resolve issues and conflicts, and exchange information; develop policies and procedures to encourage effective and efficient management controls. Plan, organize and implement long and short-term programs and activities designed to develop assigned programs and services. Work with schools and central offices to develop and implement plans for acquisition of hardware and software related to HTH’s technology goals and initiatives. Publicize HTH’s commitments for enhanced student learning utilizing technologies through speaking engagements at schools and through publication of newsletters and other visual aids. Provide leadership in assessing in-service education needs; plan and develop in-service education activities for teachers and support staff including demonstrations, workshops, orientations, and group meetings; conduct in-service activities for school staff. Develop grant proposals; obtain funding sources for special pilots and projects; establish and maintain positive relationships with business leaders, organizations, and groups at the local, state, and national levels who are interested in supporting HTH’s educational technology and various applications in our schools. Monitor assigned budgets for the Information Technology Division; analyze and review budgetary and financial data; control and authorize expenditures in accordance with established limitations. Review existing and pending legislation related to procedural guidelines and the school’s technology initiatives and recommend origination, modification, or support of legislative measures. Review appropriate legislation to ensure school compliance with laws and procedures related to fiscal processes and make recommendations on changes to policies and procedures that may result in more efficient operation of the school. Serve as a network-wide resource for new and existing facilities and make recommendations for new equipment and technologies. Maintain current knowledge of contemporary information technology in support of HTH applications. Support IT Team to implement software and hardware solutions to maintain the integrity of our integrated network of technologies.
