Latam is a fast growing region, it continues to provide exciting opportunities for growth, the region boasts fast-emerging economies. Our footprint includes 4 of the 5 key Latam markets (Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Brazil). Role Overview:
The role has operational and strategic HR leadership responsibility across the Latam business.
With continued plans for growth and transformation in the region, the HR function needs to be fully aligned with goals of the business. Change is the norm and being comfortable with ambiguity, will be a key success factor. A good understanding of the Latinamerican (including Brasil) cultural landscape, and employment law and practices in different countries will provide the backdrop for being able to deliver change management programmes most effectively.
The role is supported by global HR - UK based - team as well as Country HR teams in each market. The HR function operates on a Centres of Excellence model with group HR teams supporting talent development, Lamp;D, diversity, recruitment (alongside country recruitment teams), reward and HRIS; therefore the country HR teams are required to work closely with the central HR teams as a matter of course in order to maximise scale and cost efficiencies while leveraging best practice. Country HR teams may also have local expertise in areas such as Lamp;D, recruitment and HR operations working alongside Country HRDs and business partners.
It will be important for the Regional HR Director to be comfortable managing the demands and challenges of a fast-paced, international organisation, gained from working at a senior level in a close or related sector. They will have worked in an international organisation, previously in a senior generalist HR role; ideally operating in a matrix structure across multiple countries, with HR centres of excellence located elsewhere in the organisation. They will need to be a highly commercial business partner first and foremost, supported by HR technical skills and experience. Change management experience will be a key requirement, as will having experience of building and developing a high performing HR team by coaching team members.
