Job Description

The Art Director works directly with the Head of Global Brand Marketing amp; Communications on multi-faceted seasonal campaigns. An ideal candidate can effectively combine photography, typography and motion, creating experiences that tell a unique brand story.Daily responsibilities will include execution and oversight of a team collaborating on a wide variety of 360 campaigns and other creative outputs spanning digital, print, packaging, video, social, and retail applications.Candidates should be passionate about the fine jewelry/fashion space as well as have a keen eye for photography, design, typography, and be familiar with current design trends and best practices for both print and digital. Flexibility and an interest in creative collaboration between multidisciplinary teams will be essential to help support the brand’s creation of innovative multi-tiered campaigns. Critical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills will be required.Key Responsibilities:
  • Report to Head of Global Brand Marketing amp; Communications and serve as the creative lead on projects from concept to post-production.
  • Establish VRAI brand amp; style guidelines.
  • Creative, design and management lead on a range of 360 seasonal campaigns that may include, but is not limited to photography, videos, gifs, design identities, and interactive experiences with various applications for ecommerce, digital advertising, social platforms, paid assets, retail, packaging, print collateral, etc.
  • Work on-set and direct photographers and videographers, and direct the work of retouchers, artists, CGI artists, motion artists, etc.
  • Execute and oversee all elements of seasonal campaigns from creating mood-boards, to shot lists, to post-production retouching mark-ups and design applications, and guidelines.
  • Translate business and marketing objectives into designs that are clear, compelling, visually exciting, and easy to understand.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the brand image.
  • Manage a design team, including daily workload and individual development. Set clear roles, responsibilities and expectations of all projects to ensure that the design output is brand appropriate, and all marketing requirements are completed on time, with the highest standards, for both internal and external reviews. Assist in recommending process improvements and help document for the team.
  • Communicate overall vision on projects with members of the Executive, Creative, Marketing, Ecommerce and Merchandising teams.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 7+ years in a fashion/luxury agency or in-house environment.
  • BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent.
  • Must have an excellent eye for typography, layout, and branding with impeccable design fundamentals.
  • Must be able to work in a hands-on capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of photographers, videographers and production services.
  • Keen sense of detail.
  • Proficiency with Adobe CC, HTML, CSS, Responsive web design.
  • Experience leading holistic campaigns spanning print, digital, and social.
  • Knowledge of best practices for the Web with a particular focus on luxury retail and editorial.
  • Strong project management, organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to lead projects with minimal oversight while managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to brainstorm and develop creative concepts that combine branding and commerce.
  • Discerning, brand-sensitive eye for art direction, photo editing, cropping, and retouching.
  • On set photography experience with a sensitive eye for art direction, photo editing, cropping, and retouching.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
