The Activation Tour Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the activation team for a touring experiential marketing campaign traveling throughout North America. Main functions will include operating a tractor trailer race hauler that is transporting a competition Monster Jam truck for the Spin Master domestic retail tour. This position will oversee all logistics of setting up, activating, and tearing down the program equipment at local retail parking lots, trade shows, and other event activations throughout the calendar year. The Activation Tour Manager will be the main point of contact and supervisor for additional employees on the tour and in-market, acting as part of a team traveling with an Assistant Activation Tour Manager who will help with the program production and operations.Essential Job Functions
  • Lead for a team of two touring staff to operate a touring truck display experience throughout North America to, from, and between events and other locations in a safe and timely manner.
  • Manage and oversee all set-up, activation, and tear-down of the experience for multiple displays in a week throughout the calendar year.
  • Responsible for driving, conducting safety checks, complying with required DOT regulations, and coordinating any required repairs and routine maintenance.
  • Responsible for ensuring all documenting and reporting of critical tour information is delivered back to the Senior Director of Global Partnerships accurately and on time. This includes taking photos, taking inventory of product sales, and reporting back metrics and notes on each event.
  • Coordinate event logistics with local retail managers and/or venue management staff ensuring venue is properly informed and prepared for the activation and that the tour team is maintaining a safe, efficient, and timely schedule.
  • Manage all activation touring and in-market staff including call times, break schedule, time sheets and expense reports.
  • Proactively acknowledge, engage, and interact with all Guests. Consistently offer a professional and friendly greeting.
  • Manage activation tour team travel logistics.
  • Responsible for the safe set up, display, tear down, transportation and maintenance of a Monster Jam competition truck for multiple truck displays each day, at multiple locations, within an activation week.
  • Able to tour and travel on the road full-time for the duration of the tour approx. 14+ weeks.
  • Personal presentation must be kept neat, clean, and visually appealing to all the Guests. Team Members are expected to uphold cleanliness in the Experience and at specific work locations.
  • Keep all equipment clean and functioning properly. Perform checks, and routine maintenance, of all equipment regularly.
  • Actively look for ways to make the program more effective. Identify areas of concern and opportunity and present them to the office team for action.
  • Adhere and enforce the safety mitigation plan identified and implemented for activations in the COVID-19 environment.
Job Requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience operating and maintaining Monster Jam equipment is preferred.
  • Must have a current CDL-A driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work with teammates and be an integral part of the team environment.
  • Ability to lead a team touring in close quarters and foster an environment that is geared to the success of the group over individual priorities.
  • Be socially engaging and comfortable interacting with diverse audiences, including client and client representatives, guests, vendors, and teammates.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair tour assets.
  • Be physically fit with an ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry 75+lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a team player.
  • Must be comfortable booking own travel through corporate site.
  • Mechanical knowledge, tractor, generator, mechanical maintenance a plus.
  • Ability to learn quickly to become an expert on sponsor initiatives.
  • Critical thinker and team player as this position has a teammate for the season.
  • Comfortable speaking to large groups of diverse people.
  • Ability to lift larger items during set-up and tea
