Job Description

The Middle System Network Engineer / SysAdmin is responsible for supporting implementation, maintenance, upgrade software and hardware, help with the resolution of Tier 1-2-3 helpdesk tickets, and advanced network monitoring to provide the company with the proper tools, systems and information to operate under a secure environment. Middle Network Engineers will work with under the guidance of Senior Engineers and are expected to continuously grow their technical skills and stay up to date with technology trends related to their position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Installing and setting up the operating systems for the users, as well as network monitoring, resolving issues, identifying and reporting trends and evaluating existing and new operating systems.

2. Available on-call to assist with Tier 1-2-3 helpdesk tickets as needed.

3. Integrating the users’ workstations, including the MAC workstations, with the operating systems in place.

4. Manage and coordinate installation of new data services.

5. Allocating resources such as peripherals (monitors, headsets, USB Hubs) in a correct and justified manner.

6. Identify and report user issues, trends and propose solutions to these situations.a. Communicate to each affected user’s superior if any of the identified user’s issue(s) prevent the user from performing their task.

7. Directing the efforts of technicians to properly diagnose and correct all system-related faults and carry out system management activities.

8. Responsible for installation, administration, and testing of network servers, operating system software, hubs, routers, switches, cabling, etc.

9. Performing proactive and corrective maintenance on the devices.

10. Other tasks assigned by the Senior Ops Engineers.

Requirements

Certification or University degree preferably in Computer Science (or equivalent) or relevant certification finished

2 to 4 years in similar roles

- Mentoring/Coaching: Mentor/Coach newcomers and/or junior team members in subject matter area and on technical questions

- Systems Design: Hardware/software design of client workstaions, staging/production virtual machines of medium complexity, Azure/AWS resources of medium complexity. Hardware upgrades, maintenance of workstations, servers, other computing and peripheral equipment

- Monitoring: Knowledge of 2+ monitoring tools (DataDog, Zabbix, Lansweeper, PRTG, Azure OMS, SCOM). Ability to use all used functions, ability to analyze its monitoring results and identify potential root causes of a problem

- Windows: Strong experience and ability to setup, update, configure client’s Windows OS, MS Offices apps and other software onsite and remotely. Ability to diagnose the cause and eliminate failures in functionality of the OS, applications and peripheral equipment drivers (scanner, printer). Understanding of the importance of user data and the ability to save/transfer them. Knowledge and practical experience in Windows Deployment Services (WDS), unattended operation system installation, methods and means for disk and partition cloning according to Microsoft’s OSes family. Ability to create and deploy OS’s images

- Windows Domain Infrastructure: Ability to administer corporate/project servers/services infrastructure: Domain Controllers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Windows Deployment Services (WDS), Windows Update Service (WSUS), etc. Ability to administer Active Directory components such as: Users and Computers, Security groups hierarchy, Role-based access control (RBAC) definition, Group Policy, trust relationships, AD Sites, Certificate Authorities, etc

- Other operations systems: At least moderate experience with Linux-based or MacOS operation systems. Understanding of and ability to configure major standard features

- Microsoft 365 Admin center: Ability to perform user/group administration, incl. Azure AD. License/product management including regular cost/benefit analysis and optimization. Ability to administer major functions in Exchange, Teams, Sharepoint, OneDrive, Dynamics and other M365 apps

- Azure Administration: Ability to design and deploy Azure subscriptions/resources of moderate complexity. Azure services administration

- Email service: Ability to administer E-Mail collaboration systems. Understanding principles of e-mail protection components such as DKIM, SPF and DMARK and ability to configure them correctly. Understanding of e-mail protocols principles(SMTP, POP, IMAP), ability to troubleshoot the cause and eliminate communication failures between e-mail servers and clients. Ability to administer additional components such as anti-spam engine, retention policies, etc
