Job Description
The MidTest Analystis expected to design and execute functional test plans, review and report any code quality problems.You will work alongside the client and other departments on technical issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Designingtests (test cases/check lists) and testing data to perform functional testing based on requirements spec
2.Reviewingdesigned tests to guarantee quality and feature testing coverage
3.Performingcode review and discoveringcode quality problems (code style violations, finding better solutions, insure appropriate test coverage level etc.)
4.Setting upthe environment (VM configuration) required to perform functional testing
5.Checkingrequirements against completeness, clearness, correctness, consistency, and testability.
6.Analyzingall possible log files, system event, etc. and define the reasons of the occurring defect.
7.Providingeffort estimates on your own testing tasks
8.Followingestablished workflows, taking all necessary inputs and producing required outputs
9.Writingclear, full and well-structured defect reports.
10.Mentoring/Coachingnewcomers and/or junior team members in subject matter area and on technical questions
Requirements
- University degree preferably in Computer Science (or equivalent) or relevant certification finished or in progress
- Principles, concepts and experience working in SCRUM/Kanban teams
Web/Desktop/Mobile Testing:
- Functional Testing: ability to perform functional testing based on designed tests (test cases/check lists).
- GUI Testing: ability to perform GUItesting based on designed tests (test cases/check lists).
- Debugging, troubleshooting and defect fixing
- Awareness of the main concepts and workflows and be able to use any of the following tools in everyday tasks: Jira, TFS, Azure DevOps, Mantis, Redmine of the following Version-control tools: Git, Mercurial, SVN
- Awarenessof common SQLoperations, select statement, multitable queries, data manipulation.
- Awareness of how to capture/inspect/monitor/modify of network traffic between client and serverin Fiddler or Charles
- Setup virtual machines for testing purposes in VMWare or Virtual PC
