Couchbase is looking for a well-rounded, strategic People Team Director. We are on a journey to nail the basics, solidify the foundation, and partner to build out org and talent strategies to feed our company's growth and evolve employee experience. This Human Resources leader will be an organizational and talent game changer, taking ownership in building plans, process and competencies. With your help, we will build and maintain Couchbase's reputation as an "employer of choice."
Responsibilities

• Strategic Consultation - Be a trusted advisor, partnering with Couchbase leadership to build, manage and execute on integrated organizational and people strategies
• Establishing and Enhancing Capabilities - Work with all levels of management in an engaging manner to grow our leadership capabilities, enhancing EVP professional development practices that contribute to the attraction and retention of top caliber talent
• Operational Excellence - Roll up your sleeves to work en route: rapidly assess the situation, gather data and glean insights to crush obstacles present in the building of the next great enterprise software company. You employ a creative and adaptive approach to removing obstacles and accelerating progress with others. With strong execution chops and a modern-day lean innovation mindset, you are able to align with others on a goal and deliver outstanding outcomes for the company.
• Keeper of Culture - We are culture warriors and must be willing to lead, learn and live by example, ensuring that Couchbase culture in paramount in all business and people decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience playing a definitive role in developing world-class people and nurturing great cultures
• Experience in leadership roles in both private and public companies
• Solid HR experience, but deep expertise in business partnerships, talent development, talent management, organizational design and project management
• Knowledge of lean innovation techniques

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability and desire to work in a fast-growing, globally distributed, dynamic environment - Collaboration, teamwork, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills are key
• Expertise working with all levels in a company, fluidly
• Possessing sound business judgment
• Ability to lead with influence
• Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience
