Machine learning at Alation sits at the intersection of structured data mining and natural language processing. There is a significant opportunity for original research and cutting edge feature development for a talented and motivated intern. Based on the skills and interests of the selected intern the primary project in this role will either focus on question answering via SQL generation from natural language inputs or federated learning infrastructure and experiments. Both projects sit at the forefront of ML and offer the right candidate opportunity for significant impact within the company and to the field in general.Some of the things you will be doing include.- Be constantly challenged by tough engineering and design tasks.
- Conduct literature reviews to summarize the state of the art on relevant tasks.
- Implement prototype and production ready infrastructure.
- Design and train novel machine learning models.
- Have an impact on our product and users and be recognized for it.
You should have. (in no particular order):- At least two years toward your degree in Computer Science or related subjects.
- Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and data modeling / management.
- Completed classes in Machine Learning or Natural Language Processing.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Demonstrated initiative and persistence via self-initiated engineering projects.
- Curiosity about different areas of software engineering and a willingness to leave your comfort zone.
