We are seeking candidates with proven success in running and managing multiple facilities around the world, acquiring new office spaces of various sizes and locations, and managing a global facilities team. Additionally, we focus on Sustainability and are seeking someone who can help further and promote our efforts across our many sites.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this job will be responsible for managing all Couchbase workplaces, ensuring we have world class facilities allowing our teams to do their best work in an exciting, collaborative, and safe amp; secure environment. This role will have a global team to support these efforts.
The ideal candidate for this role should possess leadership skills to manage a global team as well as working across the functional teams and site leaders to build and maintain world class workplaces. In addition, excellent communication and organizational skills, broad knowledge of business functions, and project management experience are all very important. The Director of Workplaces must understand the technical aspects of our properties, support day to day business operations, ensure efficient operation of facilities, mitigate risk, and ensure that facilities meet the needs of our diverse employee base. We are very focused on creating safe and exciting environments for our teams.Workplaces Director Job Responsibilities:

• Driving the reimagination of office work and overall re-entry to our offices
• Sourcing our new offices and ensuring they are built to optimize the employee experience
• Ensuring the proper employee physical security and wellness while on site
• Managing facilities planning and space allocation
• Designing and planning facilities layout to optimize employee experience
• Planning building maintenance and operational programs
• Managing vendor contracts
• Ensuring the efficiency of all building systems
• Maintaining a safe work environment for all employees through safety programs, including training on safety procedures
• Ensure that all facilities management activities are performed to the highest level of quality and comply fully with all local, state, and national codes and accreditation standards
• Ensuring all utility systems are inspected and in accordance with regulations.
• Preparing and filing reports with government and regulatory authorities including environmental permitting
• Managing security, cleaning, and catering
• Coordinating routine maintenance and repairs
• Managing maintenance of grounds
• Budgeting and estimating costs

We are looking for candidates who have/are:

• Degree in Facilities Management, Facilities Engineering, or Property Management preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Staff growth and development, as well as team building experience
• Project management experience
• Good knowledge of regulations and laws
• Global operations and maintenance management experience in the technology world
• Strong technical knowledge of the following: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, fire protection, safety systems, architectural and energy management
• Good problem-solving skills, highly organized, experienced negotiating skills
