About the Role:Confluent is seeking a highly motivated Senior Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Analyst to join our growing Technical Accounting and Reporting team. This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact by building and scaling the financial reporting process. Due to the high growth nature of the Company, the candidate must be detail-oriented, maintain an inquisitive mindset, and have the ability to operate effectively and independently in a dynamic environment to help drive Confluent’s continued growth.
The ideal candidate has at least 3+ years of total experience from a Big 4 or a combination of Big 4 and public company financial reporting. This position will be based in Mountain View, CA and will report to the Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager.Responsibilities:

• Draft technical accounting memos both quarterly, annual, and ad hoc.
• Draft financial statements and related disclosures.
• Ensures quality control of overall financial reporting deliverables.
• Prepare financial statement flux analysis at the consolidated-level.
• Prepare stock based compensation and earnings per share calculations.
• Monitor, assess, and implement new accounting pronouncements applicable to the company and partner with stakeholders to analyze the impact.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders within Finance, Accounting, and Legal.
• Coordinate and interact with the Company's external auditors.
• Take initiative for process improvements to scale and optimize the financial reporting process.
• Actively engage in process improvements, including developing and maintaining Sarbanes Oxley controls over financial reporting.

What We’re Looking For:

• BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of experience
• Big 4 experience or a combination of Big 4 and public company financial reporting experience
• Precise, analytical, organized, and self-motivated
• Good working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, and ability to research accounting guidance
• Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills
• Strong Excel skillsDonnelley Financial Solutions and/or Workiva experience a plus
• Enterprise software and/or SaaS industry experience a plus
• S-1 experience a plus
