Position: Business Development and Financial Analyst
Working Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Central Time.
Salary Range: $ 2,000 - $2,500
Type of Contract: Independent Contractor
Scope of the Role
The Business Development and Financial Analyst will support two Senior Vice Presidents (SVPs) as well as another Analyst and Associate in the origination of equity investments. This role requires a proactive, analytical, and organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Investment Support: Assist in the origination of equity investments in renewable energy infrastructure projectsfor example, the ability to do a basic review of legal documents and investment memos.
- Pitch Decks and Proposals: Draft, update, and refine PowerPoint pitch decks, proposals, and term sheets for prospective investment opportunities.
- Client Interaction: Attend and coordinate phone calls and meetings with prospective clients to discuss potential investments and partnerships. Specifically, being able to take down notes and action items during meetings that are relevant to business development initiatives of the company.
- CRM Management: Organize and maintain an internal CRM to track and manage business development activities, ensuring efficient workflow and communication within the team. Familiarity with CRM software such as Monday.com, ClickUp, and Salesforce is a plus.
- Market Research: Conduct high-level market research to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in the renewable energy sector, supporting strategic decision-making. Specifically, being able to independently do online searches and read through reports synthesizing relevant data or trends for the business.
- Document Preparation: Assist in preparing internal business development reports, investment memoranda, and general business correspondence. For example, updating client logos, client information, and financial numbers in used in reports and external presentations.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the business development and investment teams to achieve collective goals and targets. Specifically, fluent in written business communication and have the ability to be articulate in explaining issues and considerations that arise with respect to business development activities.
Requirements
- English proficiency (C1) Both reading and spoken.
- Minimum of 5 years of prior work experience in a business development or financial analyst role, preferably within the financial services sector in a front-office / client-facing role.
- Professional-level written and spoken English communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook). Ability to use Slack for communication and familiarity with CRM software such as Salesforce, Monday.com, and ClickUp is a plus.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Prior professional experience working with English-speaking teams and clients is required.
