Job Description

The succesful candidate will be the in-country HR expert for the market and contact person for all day-to-day employee related issues in Colombia and Guyana
Providing comprehensive advisory and operational support to managers and employees on a full range of people management issues advising on appropriate policy, legislation and best practice so that appropriate solutions are applied which support the achievement of the company’s objectives.
This person will be expected to work with leaders and employees to identify, establish and maintain a positive work environment and authentic culture that encourages diversity, inclusion and belonging.


Day to Day Tasks:

HR Advice

  • Build effective working relationships with employees at all levels, providing advice and guidance on a range of HR policies and HR related issues to support understanding and ensure effective communication of good HR practice.
  • Manage employee relations cases that arise in country including but not limited to performance improvement plans, investigations and disciplinary, long-term illness and grievances.
  • Support the business to implement business change initiatives in their areas, including redundancies, restructures and change of terms and conditions where appropriate.
  • Manage and coordinate health and welfare cases including Parental leave and long-term absence, liaising with the employees, HR team and payroll team as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate customer focus and a commitment to providing a seamless service to the business through responding to all emails /queries in a timely manner and producing high quality, accurate work.
  • Ensure you are up to date with all local laws and regulations and update relevant policies and procedures to remain compliant. Partner with local labour attorney as needed.
HR Employee Lifecycle


  • Ensure an engaging employee experience through onboarding and orientation of new starters.
  • Be accountable for immigration documentation and renewal of relevant documentation for foreigners.
  • Drive forward the annual appraisal and promotion process, advising on best practice and completion of relevant documentation to support the process.
  • Managing, maintaining and coordinating all local employee benefits, including medical insurance, life insurance, and our Employee Assistance Program, as well as leading the annual renewal processes.
  • Manage employee exits while capturing valuable insight and making recommendations for improvements.
Recruitment


  • Work with the business and Regional Talent Acquisition team to assist with development of business cases for new roles and co-ordinate the recruitment approval process.
  • Ensure managers are fully engaged and coached on the talent acquisition and selection processes.
  • Learning and Development
  • Work closely with the Talent Development team members to ensure the regional training programs are carried out on the ground as per the regional training agenda.
  • Provide feedback to the Talent Development Lead on training needs and requirements for the market.

Other

  • As part of overseeing daily HR operations, this person is accountable for data accuracy in HR systems by maintaining and updating employee data, as well as running internal audits as needed.
  • Contribute to special projects which are driven out of an identified business need from the wider HR team.
  • Provide back-up HR support to the Panama market, as required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience of operating successfully in an HR Advsior or HR Generalist role in a fast-moving, professional services environment
  • Experience using HR Information Systems and Microsoft packages
  • Extensive knowledge of Colombian labour law
  • Experience working within an international environment
  • Able to actively listen, communicate, network, engage with and influence people at all levels of the organisation, building strong working relationships with managers
  • Able to address issues constructively by providing independent, objective and commercial advice
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of credibility, integrity, resilience and customer service
  • Able to work flexibly and respond to changing business priorities
  • Able to work to deadlines with strong attention to detail
  • Able to offer the business pragmatic yet workable solutions
